FFELP Special Allowance Rates
In order to calculate special allowance, the Treasury Department publishes the following for each ending quarter:
- the average of the bond equivalent rates of the ninety-one day Treasury bills
- the average of the bond equivalent rates of the notes of the three-month commercial paper rates in effect for each of the days in each quarter
Below is a list of recent special allowance rates. Check out our "History of T-Bill and Commercial Rates" document PDF to see a list of rates since 1992.
