Department-Sourced Institutional Data to be Used on the Financial Aid Shopping Sheet

On Jan. 18, 2013, the Department of Education issued an Electronic Announcement regarding the Department-sourced institutional data to be used on the Financial Aid Shopping Sheet for the 2013-14 award year. This announcement outlines information to be provided in the Institutional Metrics section of the Shopping Sheet, including graduation rate, loan default rate, and median borrowing information. These data are included in a downloadable Microsoft Excel file. Institutions can search the spreadsheet for their eight-digit OPEID. The release also details the sources of and the formula used to calculate the Institutional Metric data.

Other information needed for the Shopping Sheet is to be provided by the institution. This includes estimated cost of attendance, grant and scholarship aid, work options, loan options, and institutional contacts.

Information about the structure of the Shopping Sheet was provided in an Electronic Announcement on Sept. 28, 2012.

Questions about the Financial Aid Shopping Sheet can be directed to ShoppingSheet@ed.gov or to OCAP Compliance at 405-234-4432, 800-247-0420, or pct@ocap.org.
